ALL THE DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS DETAILS WE KNOW

We finally have an announcement about the Doctor Strange sequel from SDCC 2019 from the Marvel Studios panel. Kevin Feige started It off by saying, "just because Quinten Beck makes up lies about the multiverse doesn't mean It Isn't real."

Doctor Strange has a rich history of characters with a lot to explore. I am over the moon to hear the announcement of the Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness hitting cinemas May 7, 2021.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Is the coolest movie title I have ever heard - It sounds like It was ripped straight from the cover of a comic book!

Director Scott Derickson explained what excites him about the character of Doctor Strange and what he wants to do for the sequel.

"What excites me about Doctor Strange Is, what made him great In the comics, that he doesn't fight villains from this Earth or even this universe, but from the multiverse and other dimensions. So, you get into all kinds of psychedelic weirdness, which this movie is going to," Derickson said. "But when I came and talked to Kevin about doing a sequel, I said 'I don't want to do just another sequel to do a sequel;' If I'm going to do it, It has to go the territory that drew me into the Doctor Strange comics In the first place - which Is how they dipped Into the gothic, and the horror, and the horrific. And we are going to make the first scary MCU film."

That sounds amazing to me. Steve Ditko explored lots of exciting and Interesting things that would create brilliant visuals for a very visually exciting movie.

Derickson mentions the film going Into horror aspects and being "the first scary MCU film." Kevin Feige follows this up when someone In the crowed yells about It being R-rated, In which Feige smacks It down Instantly saying, "No, Its PG - you're gonna like it." It's expected for Feige to reply It's PG; Marvel Studios keep their films open to all demographics, to maximize Box Office earnings.

In Australia, every Marvel Studios film, besides the Antman's have been M, Instead of PG, which shouldn't be too limiting for a scary Doctor Strange film. The likes of Coraline, Monster House, The Nightmare Before Christmas are all PG and creepy, maybe scary In some ways In their own right. A more close match may be the Trench scene from James Wann's Aquaman.

In many Interviews, C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derickson have spoken about IncludIng Nightmare In the first film, but It proved difficult In an already exposition-heavy film to get across the idea of the Dream Dimension as another dimension.

"Nightmare will be the villain." C. Robert Cargill told Movie Webb In an Interview, "I have a feeling that whatever Nightmare is involved with, Baron Mordo, being somebody who considers himself the defender of natural law will have something to do with it."

Continuing about Mordo's arc, Cargill explains:

"For those of you who have ever read the comics, you know that Baron Mordo has a very particular arc, and that's something we discussed with Chiwetel while working on the first movie. And part of the reason Chiwetel wanted to play Mordo was because he has a definitive ending as a character and it's such a fascinating ending. And I do know that whether we're attached or not, that Marvel plans on working towards that ending and fully realizing Mordo as more than just a cardboard cutout villain, but actually taking him to kind of Loki levels of awesomeness. That's the goal with him."

Kevin Feige moves the presentation forward with: "When you have a strong Sourcerour, It also helps when you have a strong Witch. And the Scarlet Witch Is appearing In this movie alongside her." I'm not sure If Kevin just screwed up his words here or used some clever wordplay to Indicate Clea Is In the film. He said it helps to have a strong witch and Scarlet Witch Is appearing alongside her. Clea is considered a sorceress, but In the MCU she could be called a witch.

Feige then followed up with: "The events you will see Wanda go through In the WandaVision epic-series will be reflected and tied directly Into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness." WandaVision being tied directly Into Doctor Strange could hint Nightmare has an Involvement In the show. If that is true, It could explain Wanda and Vision In the 50s, or he means the character she evolves to (becoming the Scarlet Witch) Is a big part of the Doctor Strange film.
